WEATHER CHANGES
Please check your e-mail or phone on the day of the hike for messages from us. Sometimes the weather gets in the way of a safe hike, and we need to re-schedule or cancel it on short notice. In such a case, we will notify you via text (SMS) and e-mail to the number and address you have provided us upon booking. The weather forecast changes quickly, so there is no point in checking several weeks in advance. Let us worry about that!

Do you have a limited amount of time in Stavanger but would still like to experience the region’s spectacular nature? Would you prefer to avoid the crowds and hike in near-solitude? The Lysefjord View Hike is a perfect trip for people on a tight schedule (cruise passengers, etc.) and those who would prefer a shorter, more peaceful hike. Follow a dedicated private guide along rarely-used trails along the Lysefjord’s inner hillsides and through ancient pine forests while learning about the area’s unique flora and fauna. Enjoy spectacular views of the Lysefjord and capture unforgettable memories.
Your professional guide will meet you at the time and location of your choosing (within reasonable distance of Stavanger). Your adventure will begin with a 45-minute transfer to the base of the hiking trail, including driving the world’s longest underwater road tunnel.
To ensure your trip is as peaceful as possible, your guide will lead you up a trail that is rarely travelled. If you encounter other people, they will most likely be locals. This gives us time to truly enjoy the silence of nature and out-of-this-world views on the Lysefjord. On this hike, you will not see Preikestolen, but you will have an authentic experience and unique views of the Lysefjord and surrounding mountains. You’ll be lead through ancient pine forests along the Lysefjord’s inner hillsides. During the hike, you’ll come across a wide variety of flora and, if you’re lucky, also catch glimpses of the area’s beautiful wildlife (including owls, ravens, roe deer, and eagles). The hike’s leisurely pace will allow you ample time to enjoy the tranquility of the fjord and its unforgettable landscapes. After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking, your guide will find a beautiful place for you to relax while enjoying a small snack and warm beverage. After the break, you’ll complete the second leg of the hike, which will take about an hour.
If time allows, there are some spots of interest along the way, or close by. For example, the petroglyphs at Solbakk, or the amazing bakery on Buøy.
