Would you like to visit Kjerag during the high-season but want to avoid the crowds? Are you an early bird who enjoys the tranquility of hiking in near-solitude? Packed lunch included!

Join on an early-morning summer hike to the famous Kjerag boulder, and enjoy the spectacular Lysefjord. Relax and savour the views along the way. Hike in small groups on trails that have been upgraded by Nepalese Sherpas, and enjoy the exhilaration of standing atop the boulder before the crowds of tourists arrive.

Your journey begins early-morning when your professional guide picks you up at your preferred meeting place. While being transported to the trail-head, you’ll be able to catch glimpses of some of Norway’s stunning landscapes. We drive for about 3 hours, onward to the Eagle’s Nest trail-head. Before the crowds of tourists have begun to arrive, you’ll be well on your way up to the Kjerag boulder. During the 2.5-hour hike to the boulder, you’ll encounter 3 periods of steep climbing interspersed with 2 shallow valleys. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of the village of Lysebotn, which is situated at the head of the Lysefjord. The final 2 kilometers leading up to the Kjerag boulder are relatively flat and will allow you to focus more on the spectacular nature around you.

Once you reach the edge of the mountain’s plateau, while standing on a 1000-meter-high cliff, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the 42-kilometer-long Lysefjord. Cliff-side, you’ll have plenty of time to rest and enjoy your packed lunch. If you’re among the brave, you’ll have the opportunity to stand atop the Kjerag boulder.

Base-jumping is legal in Norway, so if you’re lucky, you’ll get to watch as daredevils hurdle themselves off the side of the cliff.

After the lunch break, your guide will lead you back down to the Eagle’s Nest, which takes about 3 hours. All in all, this is a demanding 6 hour, 12 kilometer hike with a total ascent of 800 meters.

AMAZING CANT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!! Seamless pick up and drop off, impeccable guide (ours was Allen) who was very knowledgeable about Norway and was very kind and welcoming, small group which made it great to get to know each other, stunning weather. Couldn’t be better if they tried!! 10/10 experience!!! Only recommendation I have is to wear hiking shoes or rent them from the company.

It was a very nice tour with a very nice guide (Stefan). You could immediately see the passion with which he led the tour and you also learned a lot about the area and the hike. Despite the rain and clouds, it was a very successful trip!

It was an amazing experience for me! The guide Banedette is super passionate about hiking and gave us excellent support and advice. She noticed I was relatively new for hiking so she chose easier route and accompanied me all the way. Really touched! Highly recommended!

Great hike. My parents, 52 and 59, were unable to complete the climb, it was very demanding for them. We were not expecting it to be this demanding. My brother and I completed it and it was a great hike. I recommend it for athletic people with unrestricted mobility.

I really liked it. We walked at a pace that was comfortable for everyone, but we were still tired. You count on your strength, the hike is not easy. The guide was fun and safe. If you are not experienced, then choose a guided hike.
